Jimmy Aschenbrenner was a leader for Morningside in the early years of its men's volleyball program, demonstrating prowess in both the classroom and on the court.
More than these achievements, his legacy was that of a beloved teammate and a true leader. His passion, dedication, and spirit were all felt by those who had the privilege of playing alongside him.
Morningside men's volleyball retired the no. 9 jersey ahead of its alumni scrimmage on January 25, 2025, in memory of Aschenbrenner and as a symbol of the both the impact that he made on his teammates and the broader impact that he had on the program as a whole.
