Bio
The all-time scoring leader in Sioux City metro prep basketball circles, Bishop Heelan Catholic product Sue Jones-Berens was an early pioneer in area women’s intercollegiate basketball, helping to put Morningside on the AIAW, and Io-Kota Conference maps. In three seasons at Morningside, Jones poured in 1,410 points in 71 games, earning NAIA All-District 15, and Io-Kota Conference honors. Jones-Berens led Morningside to a 16-8 overall record in 1981-82, including a 12-0 conference mark. She earned a scholarship to the University of Kansas, and was a starter before transferring to Morningside. At Heelan, Jones-Berens is the all-time Metro scoring leader with 2,454 points in three seasons.
