Bio
A steady floor general, defensive stalwart, and team leader, Paul DeBey played guard on Morningside basketball teams from 1980-84. The four-year letterwinner was an integral component of Morningside’s 1983 and 1984 Final Four, and Elite Eight teams respectively as a starting guard. The 1983 squad won the North Central Conference title for the first time in 32 years, and captured Division II post-season victories over Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, and Jacksonville State by a combined four points. A year later, Morningside came within one game of duplicating the feat by capturing the NCAA Division II regional with victories over Northern Michigan, and Wayne State (Mich.) before falling to Central Missouri in the Elite Eight.
