Bio

A speedster hailing from Carroll, Iowa, Mick Everett played a key role in the success of the Morningside track teams of the late 1960’s, and early 1970’s. En route to a sixth-place All-American effort at the 1971 NAIA National meet, Everett blazed to a 52.04 clocking in the 400 intermediate hurdles, a school record that still stands today. He lowered the school mark in the preliminaries, semifinals, and finals at the national meet. Along with teammates Mark Bigler, Dick Keith, and Freeman Berry, Everett was part of Morningside’s record-setting 440-yard relay that set a conference mark at the 1971 North Central Conference meet with a 41.5 clocking.

Everett was also part of sprint relay teams that captured the Iowa College Division titles at the Drake Relays for three consecutive years. Everett also played football for the Maroons, and led the squad in kickoff returns, and punt returns for the 1969, and 1970 seasons. After a brief teaching, and coaching career, Everett formed Travel Memories, a company that provides promotional products for customers.
