Bio
The all-time basketball scoring leader for many years, Mark Faber was one of Morningside’s best all-around players in school history, combining scoring, rebounding, defense, and floor play into a dynamic package. The Rock Valley, Iowa, native ended his career with 1,465 points in 107 games from 1977-81.
Faber had a standout senior season in 1981, leading Morningside to a 16-13 overall record, and 8-6 mark in league play. The 6-7 power forward was a two-time All-North Central Conference pick and led the league in field goal shooting with a 62.4 percent accuracy. Faber was named the NCC’s Most Valuable Player in 1981, only the third Morningside cager to earn such distinction. In 2003, he was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Basketball Hall of Fame.
