Bio
Ken Hoogensen charted a stellar 1964 season for the Morningside football squad when he earned NAIA All-American honors. The receiver led a high-powered Morningside offense by leading the North Central Conference in receptions with 44 catches for 677 yards, and five touchdowns. He set the Morningside NCAA Division II school record for single game receiving yards with 220 yards in a 1964 thrashing of South Dakota (42-14). Morningside led the NCC in total offense in 1964 with 375.3 yards per contest as Hoogensen was named an All-NCC performer. For the season, he nabbed 66 aerials for 885 yards. He ended his Morningside career with 105 career receptions for 1,405 yards, and was selected to the Maroon’s All-Century team.
A rare, All-NCC performer in two sports, Hoogensen was also cited as an infielder on Don Protexter’s 1966 baseball squad, which finished as league runner-up.
