Bio
Mike Junck quarterbacked for the Morningside football squad for three seasons (1969-71), and made an impact on the won-loss column as well as the record books. In his senior campaign, Junck set a school record by tossing five touchdown passes in a 39-14 victory over Nebraska-Omaha. He also passed for 302 yards in a victory over South Dakota. The Maroons compiled a 7-3 record that season, and established 18 individual, and team records. He also recorded a strong 1969 season where he ranked fifth nationally in total offense, and was named honorable mention All-American by completing 113 of 251 passes for 1,764 yards, and 12 touchdowns. Junck passed for a total of 2,644 yards in a career that was slowed by injury. He set a Morningside single season record for rushing touchdowns in the NCAA Division II ranks with 10 in 1969.
Junck played professionally with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL.
