Bio

Named Little All-American in 1956, Truman O’Doherty helped anchor Morningside’s offensive line as the Maroons captured the North Central Conference title that year. Morningside compiled a 6-1-1 overall record, and 4-1-1 in NCC play. He was a two-time All-NCC pick (1956, and 1957) at center. O’Doherty served four years in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War before resuming his education at Morningside.

After graduation, he taught, and coached at Chelsea, Mich., and Perris, Calif., before settling in at Eisenhower High School in Rialto, Calif., where he served from 1969-1991. O’Doherty coached, and mentored Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott.
