Bio

Moorhead, Iowa, native Ival Outhouse, a 1937 graduate, played football, and basketball for the Maroons before embarking upon a successful teaching, and coaching career. Outhouse served at Moorhead, Bronson, Castana, Carroll, West Harrison, and Sioux Rapids, where his 1949 squad earned third place in the Iowa Boys State Championship.

He finished his career at Floyd Valley of Alton, where he taught social studies, and coached boys golf. His career basketball coaching record was 510-156. He was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1980.
