Bio
Chicago native Bruce Pickford played football for Morningside under NFL legend George Allen, then went on to chart an exceptional high school coaching record. Pickford led teams at Sanborn, and Cherokee High Schools before coaching the Sioux City Central Little Maroons. He was named the Sioux City Journal’s Coach of the Year in 1964 for leading Central to a 7-0-1 record, and went 8-0 a year later.
He then moved to Fountain Valley, Calif., and achieved similar success. His overall coaching record was 140-48-6.
