Bio
A long-time Morningside administrator, Don Poppen was also a two-sport athlete at his alma mater, excelling in basketball, and golf. Poppen scored 892 points in 66 games for a 13.5 career scoring average from 1954-57, playing for legendary Morningside coach A.W. Buckingham. He was one of four Chief linksters to capture the North Central Conference medalist in golf, firing a 27-hole score of 109 in 1956.
Poppen's administrative career at Morningside spanned over three decades, serving as director of guidance services, dean of men, dean of student affairs, vice president, and vice president for institutional advancement.
