Bio
Dave Stead was a member of the Morningside football squad, and then went on to a coaching, teaching, and administrative career that spanned five decades. The career of the Monticello, Iowa, native began as a salesman at Hauff's Sporting Goods in Sioux City.
He was named executive director of the Minnesota State High School League in 1986, and served until 2008, the longest serving director in the history of the League, and second longest tenured leader of any state high school athletic association. He was inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame in 2023.
