Morningside made it two national championships in a row by defeating Cedarville University 75-65 in the championship.

Boosted by National Player of the Year Megan Cloud’s 28 points, Morningside beat Cedarville for the second consecutive year in the title game. The Mustangs compiled a 35-3 overall record, and went 17-1 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference to capture the league title. Morningside beat Davenport, Tabor, Bethel, and Evangel to earn the championship berth.

Cloud was named NAIA First-Team All-American by averaging 19.6 points, 6-0 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game. Brittany Carper was named to the second team All-American squad by averaging 14.7 points per game. Jill Pudenz, Kayla Wibben, Jennifer Francescon, and Beth Watson were other major contributors. Head coach Jamie Sale was named the NAIA National coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
