Bio

The Omaha native played football, and baseball for Morningside, graduating in 1953. Weikert was the starting fullback on the 1952 football squad that opened the season with five consecutive victories, a school record at the time. He was named All-North Central Conference that year, and was co-captain of the squad. After working in the agri-business industry, Weikert came back to his alma mater, and served as Livestock Marketing professor in the Business Department for many years. He also served as assistant coach for Don Protexter in baseball.
