Bio

Tim West capped off a stellar Morningside basketball career with a spectacular senior season in 1998-99 by being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-American first team. This marked the first time a Morningside basketball player earned All-American status. He was also named to the Division II Bulletin’s third-team All-American squad. West led Morningside to a 19-9 overall record, and 12-6 mark in the North Central Conference, good for a runner-up finish. He averaged 20.3 points, and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 50.9 percent from the floor, and 80.7 percent from the charity stripe. West led the NCC in scoring in 1999 at 22.1 points per game, and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. He exploded for 40 points in a victory over North Dakota State, most ever by a Morningside player in an NCC game. West ended his career with 1,586 points, third highest during Division II affiliation.
