Bio
A 5-foot-7-inch spitfire point guard from Sioux City North High School, Amy Wilhelm led the Morningside women’s basketball team to four consecutive Io-Kota Conference basketball championships (1983-87), and first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Championship (1986). The scoring machine tallied 2,332 points in her career, a record that stood for 35 years until being surpassed by Sierra Mitchell in 2022. Wilhelm was a two-time Kodak All-American first team selection, and set the single game scoring mark by firing home 44 points against Westmar in 1985. She also scored 43 points in a contest against Briar Cliff, and scored 750 points during the 1985-86 season. Wilhelm holds school career records for field goals (988), steals (204), and per game scoring average (20.4).
She was also a standout on the Morningside volleyball squad, earning All-Io-Kota, and NAIA District 15 honors in 1987.
