Baseball Goes 2-0 to Start 2026 Season
BRANSON, Mo. – The Morningside baseball team started its season with a pair of wins, winning the season opener over Midamerica Nazarene 11-6 before picking up a 43-2 win over Calvary.

BRANSON, Mo. – The Morningside baseball team started its season with a pair of wins, winning the season opener over Midamerica Nazarene 11-6 before picking up a 43-2 win over Calvary.
Cade Nolan got the start for Morningside, giving up no earned runs in three innings pitched, with three hits, two runs, and six strikeouts. Kade Yasui followed for a pair of frames, allowing three earned runs and a pair of hits, but holding the lead.
Zach Koelfgen came on in relief of Yasui in the sixth, throwing for 1.2 innings and allowing one run on no hits before Jordan Rockwell came in to shut the door, getting the final out.
The Mustangs had plenty of run support, getting two runs across in the first inning as Connor Woods scored on a walk and Michael Delzell got across on an error. Morningside would add to the lead each inning, with home runs from Connor Woods and Jacob O'Dell and a two-bagger from Delzell. Michael Snyder, Luke Blackmon, Sam Wilt, and Tucker Gibbar al also had RBIs in the contest.
Morningside followed the opener with the 43-2 victory. A facility issue forced the game to be concluded early. Check msidemustangs.com for statistics once they become available.
The Mustangs will take the field at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo., playing Columbia at 10:45 a.m. before concluding the weekend with the host Bobcats at 1:15 p.m.
