Mustangs launch three homers in Kansas
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. — The Morningside baseball team played two games Thursday against Baker, and despite hitting three home runs, the Mustangs lost both contests. Baker won Game 1, 4-1, then 8-4 in the nightcap.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. — The Morningside baseball team played two games Thursday against Baker, and despite hitting three home runs, the Mustangs lost both contests. Baker won Game 1, 4-1, then 8-4 in the nightcap.
Luke Blackmon delivered the Mustangs' lone run in Game 1, hitting a solo home run in the second inning that gave Morningside the early lead. Jacob O'Dell had two hits in the first game, both being singles.
Cade Nolan, Mason Rego, and Kade Yasui struck out six batters in six innings. The trio combined to walk just three men.
All four runs scored in Game 2 came via home runs as well. In the first inning, O'Dell hit a two-run blast that also scored Michael Delzell. Then, in the fourth inning, Conner Maston hit a two-run homer that tied the game at 4-4.
O'Dell, Jaxon Bunkers, Luke Froehlich, and Nathan Thomas also hit doubles for the Mustangs in Game 2.
Tiago Sanchez, Zach Neer, Sam Hanson, and Jordan Rockwell all pitched in the nightcap, combining to strike out seven Baker hitters.
