King homers twice in split with No. 8 Webber
BABSON PARK, Fla. — Morningside freshman Mason King started off the month of March with a pair of home runs on Sunday, as the Mustangs defeated Webber 6-1 in Game 1, while also sticking with the Warriors in a 7-6 loss in Game 2.

BABSON PARK, Fla. — Freshman Mason King opened the month of March with a pair of home runs Sunday as Morningside split a doubleheader with Webber, winning 6-1 in Game 1 before falling 7-6 in Game 2.
Five Mustangs recorded two hits in the opener, including King, who belted a solo home run and added a double. Jaxon Bunkers, Michael Delzell, Romani Perez, and Kade Yasui also had two-hit performances. Though he had just one hit, Luke Froehlich delivered the biggest swing of the game — a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning that drove in three.
Conner Maston earned the win, allowing one unearned run over six innings on five hits while striking out five on 95 pitches. Rhys Fairweather closed it out with a perfect seventh inning, throwing nine pitches, seven for strikes.
In Game 2, King connected on a two-run homer in the ninth to pull Morningside within one run. Maston added two RBIs and a double, while Perez and Delzell each drove in a run. The Mustangs' staff allowed seven runs on 10 hits in the nightcap, striking out four.
