Mustangs take mat in season opener
SEWARD, NEB. – Morningside Cheer took the mat for the first time this season in a competition hosted by Concordia University. The Mustangs placed second in the event, earning 52.35 points, while the host Bulldogs took the top spot with 71.425 points.

The first competition of the year was bound to come with some jitters, which came as no surprise to third year head coach Dakota Van Hauen.
"I think going out and pushing through this routine will help get our heads where they need to be and figure out where we go from here," explained Van Hauen. We had a couple mistakes, but all in all everything went well and we will head back to the gym and work on cleaning up those mistakes and enhancing the routine."
Morningside is back in action on Friday, January 28, when the Mustangs will head to Fremont, Neb. to compete at Midland University.
