Sheppard named cheer all-conference

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its all-conference honorees for cheer, following tryouts at the sport's championship on Saturday at Crete, Neb. Morningside's Sage Sheppard was selected as an all-conference athlete for the third time in her collegiate career.

The process for all-conference selections for cheer is outlined in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics cheer coaches' handbook. Competitors are judged on leaps and a tumbling pass, among other skills.

Sheppard's all-conference honor is the fifth that a Morningside athlete has received.
