Mustangs take second spot in first-ever GPAC Valorant tournament

Ultimate and Valorant this weekend, hosting a four team tournament for each game over the past two days. The Mustangs competed in Valorant, finishing as the runners-up to Briar Cliff following a best-of-five tournament championship.

The Mustangs competed in Valorant, finishing as the runners-up to Briar Cliff following a best-of-five tournament championship.
Morningside went 2-1 in the first day of the invitational tournament, sweeping Concordia and Doane in the best-of-three seeding round and falling to Briar Cliff 2-0.
In the tournament semifinals, the second-seeded Mustangs swept no. 3 Concordia 2-0 again to move to the championship round, meeting a BCU team that defeated Doane 2-0. The Chargers defeated Morningside in the championship, winning 3-0.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Northwestern emerged as the champion with Waldorf as the runner up. The Raiders were the top seed and the Warriors second as the weekend moved to tournament play.
The second week of the tournament gets underway on Friday, Feb. 7, at noon in the Yockey room as play for Overwatch and Rocket League begins. The Mustangs will be competing in the first Rocket League matches, with a seeded tournament starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
