Strong first half tames the Tigers
MITCHELL, S.D. – Morningside’s men’s basketball team continued to roll, collecting a huge win, thanks, in part to a 17-0 differential in points off turnovers. The Mustangs never trailed as they defeated the Tigers 83-61.

In addition to scoring 17 points off of 12 DWU turnovers, Morningside had a 44-32 advantage in rebounding, picking up 19 second chance points, compared to Dakota Wesleyan's 10. The Tigers made life less comfortable for the Mustangs as they managed to find some luck from beyond the three-point line, knocking down 10 baskets from distance, eight of which came in the second half.
Trey Powers led the Mustangs in scoring, netting 14 points. Jack Dotzler and Ely Doble had eight points apiece, Aidan Vanderloo had six, and Joey Skoff had four.
Brendan Buckley was the leader off the glass, collecting seven caroms. Powers had six, Doble had five, Dozler grabbed three, Skoff snagged two, and Will Pottebaum and Justin Sitti each corralled one rebound.
Morningside is back in Allee Gym to finish the regular season, wrapping things up against Midland at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
