SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Morningside University men's basketball team found its way on the unfortunate end of a hot shooting night by Northwestern in a 97-77 loss on Wednesday night.
The seventh-ranked Red Raiders were 35-for-65 from the floor, while the Mustangs were held to 39 percent shooting.
Joey Skoff led the No. 14 Mustangs with 30 points, scoring 15 in each half. Brendan Buckley made four 3-pointers en route to a 16-point game, and he also had nine rebounds.
Aidan Vanderloo had a team-high three assists. Daniel Brocaille led with two steals, while Skoff and Justin Sitti had a block.
Morningside committed just six turnovers in the contest, tied for the fewest in a game this season.
Morningside had its opponent within six early in the contest, but Northwestern went on a big run that the Mustangs couldn't bounce back from.
