No. 14 Mustangs hold off Spirit with free throws

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Morningside University men's basketball team on Friday made 19 second-half free throws that helped it earn an 80-78 win over Ottawa University.
The 14th-ranked Mustangs (11-2) were 23-for-30 overall from the line in the game, but went 19 of 21 late in the game.
Morningside went on an 8-0 run late in the second half, with six free throws and a Brendan Buckley layup.
Joey Skoff led the Mustangs with 15 points, while two other starters – Buckley (14) and Aidan Vanderloo (12) also scored in double figures.
Daniel Brocaille contributed with 13 points off the bench. Five different men hit a 3-pointer.
Morningside out-rebounded the Spirit in rebounds 34-30, and Skoff led with eight total rebounds.
