Skoff named GPAC offensive player of the week

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Morningside men's basketball team not only wrapped up the 2024 portion of its schedule with a pair of victories, but the Mustangs' Joey Skoff also snagged one of the calendar year's final Great Plains Athletic Conference player of the week honors, marking the third time he has received one of the league's weekly honors.

Skoff's honor came in recognition of his offensive play during Morningside's 97-76 victory over Mayville State. In the contest, Skoff tallied 27 points while shooting better than 70 percent from the floor. He was also .500 from beyond the arc and had a pair of assists.

The Mustangs waste no time getting back to GPAC Play as both the men and women head to Doane on Saturday, with the doubleheader tipping off at 2 p.m.
