SHREVEPORT, La. – The Mustangs ran into a formidable opponent in Division II-bound Texas Wesleyan in the first round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men's Basketball National Championship, as Morningside fell to the Rams 83-71.
Daniel Brocaille led Morningside, netting 24 points in what ended up being the final contest of his career. Kaden Van Regenmorter followed with 13, and Tyson Odvody had 10 points. Fitzy Grant added eight points, entering the game from the bench. Alex Wilcoxson contributed nine Morningside points, while also tallying a team-high five assists.
Three Mustang starters tallied seven rebounds, as Brocaille had five offensive and two defensive, Van Regenmorter had five defensive and two offensive, and Caleb Dreckman had seven defensive boards.
