Mustangs place two teams in Top 6 at Raider Invite
ORANGE CITY, Iowa — The Morningside University men’s golf team turned in a strong showing Wednesday at the Raider Spring Invitational, placing second as a team while also fielding a second squad that finished sixth at Landsmeer Golf Club.

The Mustangs' 'A' team carded a two-round total of 548, finishing just two strokes behind tournament champion Northwestern (Iowa) at 546. Morningside improved in the second round with a 272 after opening at 276.
Ryan Cavanaugh led the Mustangs with a tie for second-place finish at 6-under-par (136), following an opening-round 71 with a tournament-best 65 in the final round.
Dylan Welford followed with a tie for fourth at 5-under (137), posting rounds of 69 and 68 to remain in contention throughout. Darragh McGrath and Finn Coull each tied for 10th at 3-under (139), with both golfers carding rounds of 68 and 71.
Owen Bruins rounded out the 'A' lineup with a tie for 21st at 3-over (145), bouncing back from an opening-round 77 with a 3-under 68 in the final round.
Morningside's 'B' team placed sixth with a total of 582 (288-294). Adam Watkin led that group with a tie for 16th at even-par (142), posting back-to-back rounds of 71.
Ariel Lev followed with a tie for 18th at 2-over (144), while Emil Hoffman tied for 25th at 5-over (147). Phudit Armornjaturaporn tied for 31st at 8-over (150), and Tyler Show finished tied for 42nd at 12-over (154).
As a program, Morningside placed eight golfers inside the top 31.
