BALDWIN CITY, Kan. — Missouri Valley spoiled a strong effort from the Morningside men's soccer team on Monday, netting the game-winner with 90 seconds left to edge the Mustangs 2-1 at Baker University.
Morningside's lone goal came in the third minute, as Tassilo Koerner scored his second of the season. Gustavo Dos Santos had the assist on the play.
The Mustangs (0-2-1) were held to two total shots, and Gustavo Oeiras attempted the other one, which happened during the second half.
Morningside used two goalkeepers on Monday. Tim Teschner played the first half, and he had two saves. Timon Koerber also saved two shots during the second half.
Morningside makes its home debut at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Providence (Mont.) at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
