SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside men's soccer team outshot No. 9 Bellevue on Saturday but fell 3-0 at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
The Bruins (5-1-1) struck in the opening minutes and added goals in the second half to secure the win.
Despite the score line, the Mustangs (1-4-1) held their own statistically, finishing with a 16-10 advantage in shots and forcing Bellevue goalkeeper Kaden Simpson to make six saves. Tassilo Koerner paced the attack with three shots on goal, while Maris Rombeck and JJ Lemus also tested Simpson.
Morningside goalkeeper Tim Teschner recorded three saves, and the Mustang defense limited the nationally ranked Bruins to just four shots on target.
