BOURBONNAIS, ILL. – It was in the 35th minute that Morningside was finally able to crack Olivet Nazarene's defense. Unfortunately the Mustangs' lone goal, scored by Maris Rombeck, was not enough, as Olivet built an early lead in the first 15 minutes of the contest.
While Rombeck's goal, which came off an assist from Tim Kobbenbring, sent ONU to the locker room with a far from comfortable 2-1 lead, the Tigers responded with a third score in the 70th minute of the contest.
Tim Teschner recorded five saves in the loss, with three goals getting by.
Morningside is off until Sept. 20, when it opens the Great Plains Athletic Conference season with Hastings at home at 5:30 p.m.
