Five Mustangs receive GPAC All-Conference nods

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Five Mustangs earned recognition as the Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams Thursday.
Senior forward Jordan Bickel and senior defender Guillermo Roman were both named to the GPAC First Team, headlining Morningside's selections. Bickel, a senior from Maeder, Austria, earned his spot after producing eight goals and five assists to lead the Mustangs' attack. Roman, a senior from Guayaquil, Ecuador, anchored the back line throughout the season and was one of four defenders voted to the First Team.
Freshman midfielder Bennet Buchwald was selected to the GPAC Second Team, capping an impressive collegiate debut. The Hannover, Germany, native contributed three goals and three assists while appearing in every match.
Two additional Mustangs earned Honorable Mention recognition: Sophomore goalkeeper Tim Teschner and senior defender Leonard Hohner. Teschner finished the season with 34 saves and a .618 save percentage across 19 matches, helping Morningside secure multiple key conference results. Hohner provided veteran stability on the back line.
Selections were made by a vote of conference coaches and announced by the GPAC office.
