Midland stops Morningside in league showdown

Raja bounced back from an opening set 6-1 loss to march past Midland University's Ryosei Masuda 7-5, 7-5 for a Mustangs' victory at number three singles. Classmate Alexander Castillo (Santiago, Chile) nearly added his name to singles success, pushing the Warriors' Tycho Janssen in a 7-6, 3-6, 5-10 superbreak defeat at number five that was part of a 6-1 visitors team win.
Midland's women, who along with their men entered the clash of league standings leaders as receiving votes on the recent National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics poll, claimed a 7-0 team triumph at Mason Family Tennis Complex. Boudreau at Kooji gave the home crowd something to cheer about in doubles action, winning 6-3 at number three. Boudreau and senior Tenly Hansen (York, Neb.) didn't make things easy in singles play, taking their opponents to three-set finals.
Head coach Alex Struck's squads return to conference action Tuesday, April 5. Northwestern College visits for a 4 p.m. double-dual.
