Morningside Men Turn In Strong Middle-Distance Showing at Wildcat Indoor Opener
WAYNE, Neb. — The Morningside University men’s track and field team opened the 2025–26 indoor season Friday with several top-10 finishes and solid early-season performances at the Wildcat Indoor Opener inside the Wildcat Dome.

Junior Theo Moseman led the Mustangs on the track, winning the 600 meters in 1 minute, 21.21 seconds to set a new venue record. Sophomore Jaelonni Small followed in second with a time of 1:24.77, while junior Cooper Haddix placed sixth in 1:27.78, and sophomore Jack Kling finished seventh in 1:28.60.
In the sprints, junior Lane Kruger turned in a strong day, placing fourth in the 200 meters in 22.37 seconds. He also finished 12th in the 400 meters with a time of 51.32. The Mustangs saw two athletes advance to the 60-meter hurdles final, where freshman Boston Riedemann placed fifth in 8.71 seconds and sophomore Aiden Holverson finished seventh in 8.88.
In the distance events, junior Braden Sonksen placed second in the mile with a time of 4:36.51, while senior Austin Ramold finished eighth. Senior Parker Halder added a runner-up finish in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 9:09.65.
Lynx Gregoire was Morningside's lone jumper, taking part in the long jump and recording a leap of 4.72 meters.
In the throws, senior Zach Luze led the Mustangs in both events, placing sixth in the shot put with a throw of 13.83 meters and 14th in the weight throw with a best mark of 10.29 meters. Sophomore Alex Klarenbeek followed in the weight throw with an effort of 9.59 meters.
