Mustangs Fire in All Phases at BVU

STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Mustangs turned in top 10 performances throughout the range of events today at the Dennis Young Classic, finishing above the no. 10 spot in sprints, throws, and distance events.

Boston Riedemann led the way for the Mustangs with a second place finish and a time of 8.73 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles. Aiden Holverson was just over two tenths of a second behind in fourth place with a time of 8.96 seconds.

Zach Luze found himself on the podium in the shot put, as he placed third with a throw of 13.00 meters. Luze also placed sixth in the weight throw, reaching 11.85 meters in the event.

Braden Sonksen and RC Hicks went no. 4 and no. 6 in the mile, both running in heat one. Sonksen's fourth place time was 4:38.49, while Hicks crossed in 4:38.99.

Jack Kling was fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.39 seconds. He placed eighth in the 400 meters, finishing in 53.54.

Morningside competes again next week at the Concordia Classic on Friday and Saturday in Seward, Neb.
