Steffans' day started with a victory by fall in 1:40, a pair of decisions, and a 1:46 fall in the bracket quarterfinals. After suffering defeat by major victory in the bracket semifinals, a victory by no contest advanced him to the third place match, where a 19-1 tech fall earned him the third spot on the podium.
While Steffans was the highest finisher, he wasn't the only Mustang to see success.
Carson Turnis started the day with a fall in 2:15, a fall in 28 seconds, a 10-2 major decision, and a fall in 2:35 in the quarterfinal round before losses in the semifinals and consolation semifinals put him in the fifth-place match, which was declared in his favor as a no contest.
Caden Eggleston started his day with a 15-1 major decision and an 8-1 decision. After suffering an 11-4 loss in the third round, he picked up 13-1 and 10-1 major decisions and a 4-0 decision before bowing out of the tournament.
The Mustangs' next competition comes on November 26 as the dual portion of the season begins in this year's GPAC Duals at Concordia.
