Mustangs Pick Up Win Over Midland at Home GPAC Duals I
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Morningside played host to Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Wrestling Duals Day no. 1 today, packing the Hindman-Hobbs Center as the conference’s nine men’s wrestling teams were under one roof for the first time this season. The Mustangs’ lone match for the day came in the 5:30 p.m. time slot, as Morningside toppled Midland 35-16.

The Mustangs' lone match for the day came in the 5:30 p.m. time slot, as Morningside toppled Midland 35-16.
Noah Thorsen worked the mat in the opener for the Mustangs, winning a 4-2 decision to give Morningside a lead that it wouldn't look back from.
Christian Ahrens and Josue Munoz quickly added to Morningside's lead as they each collected wins via forfeit, building the Mustangs' lead to 15-0, before Caden Eggleston added the eventual game-winning points with a 6:36 21-4 tech fall.
Wiley Hegwer added a 10-7 decision, Zander Ernst collected a win via forfeit, and Braedyn Rakes concluded Morningside's run of wins, with Midland claiming the final three matches of the night.
The Mustangs wrap up competition for the month of November, but return to the mat for the Doane Open on Dec. 6 in Crete, Neb.
