McGill, Moore win two bouts at Doane tourney

At 174 pounds, John McGill bounced back from a second-round loss with an impressive run through the consolation bracket. After edging his first opponent 4-3, McGill followed with a late pin, sticking his St. Mary's opponent with 1:07 remaining.
At 184 pounds, Samuel Moore responded well after an opening defeat. Moore won his next two matches, highlighted by a lightning-fast 26-second pin in the consolation round. He also added a steady 7-0 decision to his day.
At 197, Sendeska Kalskett opened strong with a pin at the 5:25 mark in his first match. After being bumped to the consolation bracket, he gutted out a 12-10 thriller, sealing the win with a reversal in the final seconds.
Braedyn Rakes also represented the Mustangs at 174.

Abel Flores — Picked up a 13-5 major decision in his first consolation match.
Justin Parsons — Lost twice, but jumped out to a 6-0 lead in his opening bout.
Ryan Buchanan — Scored double digits in both wins, including a 7-minute 15-0 tech fall and an 18-10 major decision.
Ty Lorentzen — Won three straight after a first-round loss, including a sudden victory win over Buchanan.

Gabe Wagner — Opened his day with a pin at 1:38.
Wiley Hegwer — Earned two wins by pin, both in under 3:45.
