McKinley leads Mustangs to fifth-place team finish at Dordt Sunflower Open

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Morningside University men's cross country team placed fifth Saturday with 119 points at the Dordt Sunflower Open.
Eein McKinley led the Mustangs men with a 30th-place, 8,000-meter time of 27:48.95. Casey Kruger was 39th in 28:17.17, while Blake Cerveny and RC Hicks placed 45th and 46th with times of 28:38.47 and 28:41.64.
The remaining five runners for Morningside were: Braden Sonksen (54th, 29:09.47); Jose Lopez (79th, 32:11.05); Oscar Benitez (80th, 32:27.49); Gabriel Mora (33:36.43) and Aidan Long (90th, 36:41.92).
The Mustangs' next competition is Sat., Oct. 5, at the Briar Cliff Invite, which will be run at Adams Nature Preserve in North Sioux City.
