Softball Takes Two in Outdoor Opener
MCPHERSON, Kan. – Playing in the elements for the first time this season, Morningside picked up a pair of road wins at McPherson College today, 18-11 and 4-1.

MCPHERSON, Kan. – Playing in the elements for the first time this season, Morningside picked up a pair of road wins at McPherson College today, 18-11 and 4-1.
Winning pitchers on the day for the Mustangs were Bralen Biddlecome and Adeline Fliege, with Biddlecome throwing the final four frames of the opening contest, giving up six runs, five of which were earned. Fliege's outing had one earned run with 11 strikeouts and four hits.
Run support was plentiful in the day's contests, as seven Mustangs had RBIs in game one and three drove in runs in game two. Paige Schuster was the big bat at the plate, going 3-for-4 and scoring four times, with five RBIs, in game one. Mackenzi Harrel added three RBIs, while Josie Hernandez, Emma Barwick, and Amber Dougherty each had two. Harrel had a pair of RBIs in the second contest, blasting a two-run homer over the outfield fence to score the first runs of the game.
The Mustangs' next outing comes in Branson, Mo., as the Mustangs play no. 2 Oklahoma City on Feb. 28 at 3:30 p.m.
