Two seventh-inning runs force road split
SEWARD, Neb. — Mackenzi Harrel drove in the game-winning run Wednesday in the seventh inning that helped Morningside defeat Concordia 4-2 during a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader.

SEWARD, Neb. — Mackenzi Harrel drove in the game-winning run Wednesday in the seventh inning that helped Morningside defeat Concordia 4-2 during a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader.
With the game tied 2-2, Harrel hit a single that drove in Amber Dougherty that broke the stalemate, then Jalyn Noelle scored on a fielding error to make the lead 4-2.
The other two runs in the win came during the second inning when Lillian Harris had an RBI double, then on a wild pitch in the fourth inning. Jenna Skradski also hit a double in Game 1, while Dougherty and Emma Barwick each stole a base.
Adeline Fliege earned the win, pitching all seven innings. She allowed two earned runs on seven hits, and she had seven strikeouts. Fliege threw 102 pitches, and 70 were strikes.
The Bulldogs won Game 2, 3-1. Harrel drove in that run with an RBI single, as Skradski scored on that play.
Bralen Biddlecome and Morgan Secora pitched the six innings, combining to allow three runs (none earned) on 10 hits. They each struck out a batter.
