SEWARD, Neb. – The Mustangs opened their conference slate on their road Wednesday night, falling to Concordia 86-62 in Seward.
The Bulldogs took large advantages in the first and third quarters, but the Mustangs battled Concordia close in the second quarter and outscored the Bulldogs in the fourth.
Morningside shot 42% from the field and outrebounded the Bulldogs 50-29. The big difference in the game was three-point shooting, as Concordia hit 12 shots from beyond the arc.
Jaeden Webb led the Mustangs with 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Both Chloe Lofstrom and Lily Vollertsen were one point and one rebound shy of a double-double, totaling nine points and nine rebounds apiece. Alexis Spier and Tonja Heirigs added seven points each.
Morningside is back in action Saturday at home against Mount Marty. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Allee Gymnasium.
