The Mustangs (7–3, 3-3 GPAC), built a 15-point lead by halftime and held firm through a second-half push from the Flames.
Morningside also went on a 12-0 run during the fourth quarter to put the game away. During that stretch, six different Mustangs scored. Lily Vollertsen and Sam Ehlers each hit a 3-pointer during it.
Morningside shot 50 percent from three-point range (15-for-30) and piled up 42 bench points.
Sophomore Lily Vollertsen anchored the scoring with 22 points, knocking down three 3s and adding five rebounds. Freshman Ali Albrecht also scored 22 points on 6-for-8 shooting from deep, while Ehlers turned in 11 points. Kinsey Hall and Jordyn Carr also had six assists.
The Mustangs also forced 25 turnovers and turned them into 31 points.
Morningside has two games before its Florida holiday trip: Wednesday at Briar Cliff, then Saturday at home vs. Doane.
