Kruse leads Morningside to second-place finish in Mustang Invite
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The atmosphere was abuzz as Morningside took over Sioux City’s bowling centers for the annual Mustang Invite. The Mustangs took second place in their home women’s bowling event, totaling 6955 pins, with freshman Emaly Kruse leading the team with 918 pins.

Kruse' all-tournament team eligible day saw a high of 209 pins in two of her five individual games, averaging 183.6 pins per game. Fellow freshman Alexa Munhofen bowled a total of 878 with a high of 212 for sixth place, and Rachel Spier was third for the Mustangs with a high of 187 on the way to 817 total pins and a no. 16 finish.
Samantha Sonier led Morningside's JV squad with 715 pins as the Mustangs ranked second in the smaller field.
Morningside's next outing comes as part of a four day marathon in Las Vegas, Nev., as the Mustangs compete in the Las Vegas Invite on Dec. 18 and 19 and the Collegiate Shootout Dec. 20 and 21.
