Mustangs Kruse into 2024 with top-15 finish
LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Morningside’s four-day streak of competition in Las Vegas came to a close as the Mustang women competed in their second Tier I tournament of the trip, the 2023 Collegiate Shootout. Finishing with a team total of 7,949 pins, they ranked no. 14 of the 33 teams in the event, led individually by Emaly Kruse.

Finishing with a team total of 7,949 pins, they ranked no. 14 of the 33 teams in the event, led individually by Emaly Kruse.
The Mustangs compiled 5,258 pins in 30 individual games before tacking on 2691 in Baker games. Kruse ranked no. 6 overall in the 244 competitor field with a total of 1,257 pins and an average of 209.5 pins per game.
Carissa Johnson and Samantha Schiefen followed for Morningside, with six games each, and Alexa Munhofen sat no. 126 of 244 competitors, rolling five games for 764 total pins and a 152.8 pin average. Johnson scored 1,099 pins, with an average of 183.17 pins per game, while Schiefen had a 1,012 with an average of 168.67 pins per game. Maren Ewertz totaled 691 pins with an average of 172.74 pins per game across four games.
Morningside now goes quiet until mid-January before they compete in the Kegel Midwest Collegiate Classic Jan. 13 and 14. in Addison, Ill.
