Mustangs fall to eventual champion at NAIA unaffiliated qualifier
OVERLAND PARK, KAN. – Morningside’s women’s bowling team competed in the 2024 NAIA Bowling National Qualifying Tournament, competing in a field consisting of Great Plains Athletic Conference, Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, and American Midwest Conference.

The Mustangs were the top-ranked team following Saturday's 20 baker games, tallying 3,491 pins. The ranking set Morningside up for a match with Saint Mary, which the Mustangs won three games to one.
Morningside moved on to face Midland, where the Mustangs picked up a 3-1 win. They then fell to the eventual event champions, William Woods, 3-2.
In the consolation bracket, the Mustangs matched up with Ottawa, who was seeded third, where Morningside fell 3-1.
The Mustangs will head to United States Bowling Congress Sectionals in Fort Worth, Tex., March 8 and 9.
