Kruse Headlines Strong Morningside Showings at NAIABC Invitational
TOPEKA, Kan. – Morningside’s women’s bowling team turned in one of its strongest performances of the season at the NAIA Bowling Coaches Association Invitationals from Nov. 14–16, holding their own in a field loaded with top-tier programs from across the country.

The Mustangs opened Invitational No. 1 with an impressive sixth-place finish out of 20 teams, totaling 4,489 pins for a 179.56 average. Emaly Kruse dominated the individual standings, winning the tournament with 1,091 pins and a 218.2 average over five games. Kennedy Reindl added a top-25 effort, placing 21st with 920 pins and a 184 average, while Alexa Munhofen contributed 896 pins for a 179.2 average.
Morningside carried its momentum into Day 2, finishing fifth in the baker-format Invitational No. 2 with 4,610 pins and a 184.4 average. The Mustangs delivered a milestone performance in baker play, rolling a five-game set of 1,067, a 213.4 average.
The Mustangs entered match play as the No. 6 seed, where they faced William Penn in the opening round. Morningside posted competitive scores throughout the four-game set—201–218, 184–200, 161–168, 156–180—but ultimately fell 4–0 to a hot-scoring Statesmen squad.
Morningside now shifts its focus to a full week of competition in Las Vegas, where the Mustangs will bowl in the Las Vegas Invite and the Collegiate Shootout from Dec. 18–21.
