Morningside Women’s Bowling Claims Top Qualifying Spot at Tier One Collegiate Shootout
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Morningside University’s women’s bowling team turned in a strong showing at the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational and delivered a championship performance at the Collegiate Shootout against elite national competition.

At the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, the Mustangs finished 18th out of 42 teams. Emaly Kruse led the way with a seventh-place individual finish, averaging 203.4 pins per game, while Natalie Vanderloo placed 18th with a 192.8 average.
Morningside followed with a standout performance at the Collegiate Shootout, finishing first out of 41 teams in qualifying with a total pinfall of 7,741. Kruse continued her strong weekend by placing second individually with a 208.4 average. Alexa Munhofen finished seventh, averaging 203.8, and Libbie Keith added a 22nd-place finish with a 193 average.
Entering match play as the No. 1 seed, the Mustangs advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated by the University of Northwestern Ohio and Trine University of Indiana. Saint Francis University of Chicago finished fourth in the four-team bracket. Morningside narrowly missed advancing to the finals, falling just 11 pins short.
Qualifying first at the Collegiate Shootout marked a significant achievement for the Mustangs, as the event is designated as a Tier One tournament by USBC Collegiate. Only 10 tournaments nationwide receive the Tier One designation, drawing top programs from across the country.
