Castelan picks up Morningside's second GPAC weekly fall award

Morningside University sophomore Sofia Castelan (Queretaro, Mexico) was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference's women's Golfer of the Week for Oct. 4-10.

Castelan, the second Mustangs student-athlete recognized by the GPAC this fall with senior Laia Badosa (Girona, Spain) being the other, leads the 2021-22 conference championships field with a 36-hole total of 150 (+6) after the fall rounds. Castelan guided head coach Nick Wanderscheid's team, the clubhouse leader at the halfway point after Oct. 4-5 play at The Bluffs in Vermillion, S.D.
