Button leads women's golf to fifth-place finish
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Morningside University women’s golf team placed fifth Tuesday at the Kyle Blaser Invitational, with three Mustangs finishing inside the top 21.
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Morningside University women's golf team placed fifth Tuesday at the Kyle Blaser Invitational, with three Mustangs finishing inside the top 21.
Macy Button led Morningside with a 36-hole total of 166, including an 80 in Tuesday's final round. She recorded two birdies in the opening round on Nos. 13 and 14.
Lucy Brown tied for 19th at 167, while Ivanna Becerra-Diaz tied for 21st with a 168. Becerra-Diaz turned in her best round Tuesday with an 80 and closed strong with pars on Nos. 8, 9, 17 and 18.
Kamryn Zuniga followed with a 169 over two rounds, collecting three birdies, and Aidan Sander tied for 30th at 172, including an 81 on the final day.
As a team, the Mustangs posted a 664. Morningside returns to action March 30 at Green Valley Golf Club for the Briar Cliff Match Play.
